Adults

Our Mens training is taken by our coach Darian Uys, at the club on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Our Ladies training is on Wednesday nights at the club. Training starts at 7 o'clock.

We select seven teams each week..... 1sts, 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, Vets (over 34), Colts (under 19), and Ladies (Sundays).

If you'd like to have a go then come down to a training session and join in - you can be assured of a warm welcome. Or if you'd like to know more first then contact the relevant coach or team captain (contact details can be found here).

Under 17s

Our Minis and Juniors training alternates with matches on Sunday mornings. See our fixture list to see where we are on specific Sunday.

We run teams for boys of the following age groups: U17s, U16s, U15s, U14s, and U13s. We run a junior ladies squad for girls between 12 and 17. We run mixed squads at U12s, U11s, U10s, U9s, U8s, U7s, & U6s

Boys U13-U17 play the full game of rugby.

We are in the process of rebuilding the junior ladies squad and would particularly like to gain more junior lady players.

At U12s and below we operate the The Rugby Continuum as designed by the RFU. The Rugby Continuum ensures that every youngster gradually acquires skills required for the full XV-a-side game. It aims to improve individual performance through purposeful and enjoyable activity, with competitive fixtures and festivals played to test skills acquired. The Continuum is a logical progression of modified games for children, with individual rules reflecting ability and safety. Players safely progress through clearly defined stages compatible with the development of their physical and conceptual abilities.

For U7s and U8s we coach Tag Rugby. Very young players can learn the basics of mini tag rugby in one session, discovering that the faster runners are not always the best, that they need to pass to team mates and being agile and able to dodge and evade helps their game. It is far more inviting to smaller, lighter, and less confident players and as rugby union has always been promoted as ‘a game with a position for everyone, irrespective of height, weight, size, gender or ability’ mini tag rugby supports this excellent concept from the start. Players can be taught to ‘run at the spaces, not at the faces’, helping steer them away from the ‘always look for contact’ option.

If you'd like to have a go then come down to a training session and join in - you can be assured of a warm welcome. Or if you'd like to know more first then contact the relevant coach or team administrator (contact details can be found here).
