Paul Cook, first team captain commented on the season ahead:

"I can honestly say that in my six years as captain I have never been as excited about the prospects of a team and the performance it is capable off!, this is a young, dynamic team full of skill, strength and most important of all a real passion to wear that borough shirt and deliver exceptional performances after exceptional performances!. It’s true that we have lost a couple of star players through retirement in the shape of Clarky and Brudnell but with the investment in our mini and junior setup we have a tremendous amount of talent filtering into the first team this year, players that want to play for us, players that understand what rugby is about and I doubt any team at our level will have as many home grown players as we will have, that in itself installs a team spirit that money cannot buy!.

I have been asked by several people about the other local clubs and the players that have gone to them, all I can say is good luck to them and thank them for their efforts over the past couple of years, will they be missed? In my honest opinion, no! Yes one or two who have gone may have pushed for first team places this year but from what I have seen so far in pre-season excites me more than any season in the past 10 years.

Peterborough Rugby club has been a bit of a sleeping giant in the past few years, this year the giant has awoken and the brand of rugby we will be playing will be like nothing else you will have seen or can see in Peterborough! The club is really looking after its players this year both on and off the pitch with a real dedication to talent development, we have a fantastic opportunity this Friday to welcome new potential sponsors to the club and I know the whole squad is really looking forward to working in a two way link with all sponsors of the club.

Peterborough rugby club will be the place to see expansive, dynamic and passionate rugby this season and I hope to see as many new faces as possible down to our great club for the coming season to cheer on our boys!, this is Truly an exciting time in the development of our club for now and the future!.”

Coaching Team 2010-2011

Following our successful closure to the season with a 29pts–13pts win over Luton in the East Midlands Cup Final Peterborough Rugby are pleased to confirm Jon Phillips will continue his role as Head of Coaching into the 2010-2011 campaign. Jon brings a wealth of experience gained at Northampton Saints and Bedford Blues to the club, and added to this is his desire to continue his playing career into the coming season and beyond. Aiding Jon in his coaching duties for the coming campaign will be Steve Worrall, who will balance coaching at Peterborough with his RAF duties, and his younger brother Chris Phillips. I am sure the whole club will join me in wishing Jon and team all the success in the coming months.
